About Us | Seid Crane Service, Inc.

Bill Seid (owner)

After graduating from high school I went to work at Morrison Knudsen Corporation Strontia Springs dam in Colorado. Over the next four years I worked as a concrete hand, pipe hand, journeyman rigger, signal person and tested and passed as a journeyman carpenter.

While building a Wastewater treatment plant in Orofino, Idaho I was given the opportunity for some crane training. Two years later I was working on the MX missile base in Cheyenne, Wyoming operating a 40 ton rough terrain crane approximately 70 hours a week.

For the next 11 years I mainly operated cranes until I was able to purchase my first Grove RT 740 rough terrain crane in 1993, and started Seid Crane Service Inc. For the last 34 years my life has been embedded in the construction and crane industry from dams, bridges, water treatment plants, barge work, structural steel, concrete placement as well as consulting.

My two sons Walker and Andrew both are crane operators. They worked their  way up in other companies from labor to crane operators. Walker is currently on a dam project in Sitka, Alaska and Andrew handles all residential work here. Andrew is also a Washington Labor and Industries Certified Crane Inspector.

In 2008 I incorporated crane training, articulating crane and NCCCO practical testing into my business.  We are committed to helping the working man at a reasonable, affordable rate to meet the necessary requirements for NCCCO training and testing.
